Accomplishments

  • We appealed to Senator John Sununnu and received funding for new radios and a 12 Pair telephone cable from hermit lake Shelter area to Pinkham to insure continued reliable avalanche forecasting and rescue communication!

  • We then appealed to Senator Judd Greg and received funding to drill a well for year round potable water just above hermit lake on the left side of the summer trail to the ravine.

  • Next we appealed to Congressman Jeb Bradley and received funding to install a foot bridge across the Ellis River to allow hikers the ability to transition from off highway parking to the Tuckerman Ravine trail without hiking on the highway.

  • An appeal then went out to the Friends of Nelson Gildersleeve fund to supply funding for an upgrade to first aid supplies and equipment for use in accident and rescue work.

  • We also have implemented a trail maintenance program for the Sherburne and Gulf of the Slides Ski Trails.
